SEAL BEACH (CBS) — Grace Community Church in Seal Beach dedicated time during services Sunday to honor the victims who lost their lives in the salon shooting rampage.

The massacre unfolded last Wednesday when police say Scott Dekraai walked into the workplace of his ex-wife Michelle Fournier allegedly with the intent to kill her and anyone who got in his way.

Among those killed were 48-year-old Fournier; Randy Lee Fannin, 62, Murrieta; Christy Lynn Wilson, 47, Cerritos; Michelle Daschbach Fast, 47, Seal Beach; Victoria Ann Buzzo, 54, Laguna Beach; Lucia Bernice Kondas, 65, Huntington Beach; Laura Lee Elody, 46, Huntington Beach and David Caouette, 64, Seal Beach.

Friends of Hattie Stretz, the lone survivor, told CBS2’s Melissa Maynarich that she is expected to pull through.

Fannin’s sister-in-law Suzanne Finamore was one of the few allowed into Salon Meritage on Saturday for the first time since that frantic call to 911. She told CBS2 that her sister was there when Fannin was killed.

“My sister is very broken. They were everything to each other, they were soul mates.

“He’s the best man that God ever made… truly. Loving, good with everyone, the best father, the best grandfather, the best husband, the best brother-in-law, the best everything,” Finamore said.

Also on Saturday, dozens of community members continued to come out to the site of the shooting to pay their respects.

“I’m just kinda out here for support and I brought some flowers, brought my kids out so they can see how precious life is,” Mei Amano said.

“Love will always be greater than hate and peace always stronger than confusion and light will always, always overcome darkness, Marissa Pei, a community member, said.

Dekraai has been charged with eight counts of murder and one count of attempted murder.

Orange County District Attorney Tony Rackauckas has said he intends to seek the death penalty.
