1 Man Killed, 2 Wounded In North Long Beach Shooting

LONG BEACH (CNS)  — Police are investigating the shooting death of a man and the wounding of two others Saturday night in north Long Beach.

Corey Banks, 24, of Long Beach was fatally shot just before 9 p.m. near 53rd Street and Atlantic Avenue, according to a Long Beach Police Department statement.

Officers arriving at the location found Banks along with two other males all suffering from gunshot wounds.

All three were taken to hospitals, where Banks succumbed to his injuries and another victim remains in critical condition.

The third victim was treated for a gunshot wound to his lower body and released.

Investigators believe the shooting is gang-related, and the suspects remain at large, police said.
