US Soccer To Face France Nov. 11 At Stade De France
CHICAGO (AP) -- The United States will play France in a friendly at the Stade de France on Nov. 11, the first meeting between the nations in 32 years.
In the dugouts, the match announced on Friday will bring together two former players who helped their countries win the World Cup in new U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann of Germany and France's Laurent Blanc.
The nations played twice in 1979, with France winning 6-0 at East Rutherford, New Jersey, on May 2 and 3-0 in Paris on Oct. 10.
France is preparing for next year's European Championship, having qualified Tuesday, and the U.S. is getting ready to start World Cup qualifying in June.
France will host Belgium in a friendly on Nov. 15, when the U.S. is also expected arrange a game in Europe.
