PASADENA (CBS) — A black bear was spotted wandering the streets of Sierra Madre early Monday morning.
The bear was seen wandering knocking over trash cans in the 600 block of Oak Crest Drive and at Sierra
Meadows Dr. and West Carter Avenue.
Several witnesses alerted the Sierra Madre police, but the animal fled back into the hills before authorities arrived on the scene.
The visit was the latest in a recent string of wild animal sightings in the foothills, including a pair of mountain lions that camped out on the front lawn of a Sierra Madre home earlier this month.
Authorities are warning residents to use caution and alert them immediately if they spot any wild animal.
