Woman Dragged 12 Feet During Lake Elsinore Purse-Snatching

LAKE ELSINORE (CBS) — A man believed to be in his 20s knocked down and then dragged a woman during an apparent purse snatching in a Lake Elsinore store parking lot, officials said.

The incident occurred about 8:30 p.m. Saturday in the Stater Bros. parking lot on West Lakeshore Drive, a sheriff's spokesman said.

"The suspect followed the victim to her vehicle, walked up behind her and grabbed her purse," the spokesman said. "The purse was around the victim's shoulder and she fell to the ground. The victim was dragged about 12 feet before the suspect was able to remove the purse."

According to authorities, the suspect fled in a dark-colored, four-door Honda.

The victim described the suspect as a 5'10" dark-skinned male, weighing between 160 to 190 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a black-hooded sweater, a white T-shirt and blue jeans.
