LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A 25-year-old man was killed early Sunday in a crash on the Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway in Northridge, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The single-vehicle crash was reported at 3:46 a.m. on the westbound 118 just east of Sepulveda Boulevard,.

The victim was a passenger in a 1996 Chevrolet Tahoe that drifted from the roadway and crashed into a guardrail, overturning the vehicle, CHP officials reported.

The man reportedly was ejected and thrown from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle, identified only as a 20-year-old Northridge man, allegedly fled the scene, but was later arrested and booked on suspicion of manslaughter.
