Suspects Sought After 2 LAPD Officers Hurt In Shooting

KOREATOWN (AP) — Police have two suspects in custody and are searching for two others in connection with a shooting that wounded a pair of undercover officers in Koreatown.

Sgt. Paul McLaughlin said Sunday that one officer had successful surgery on an eye after being hit in the face with buckshot from a shotgun. He is in stable condition. The other officer was grazed in the face and was treated for very minor injuries.

McLaughlin says the officers were in plain clothes in Koreatown late Saturday when they came upon a shooting in progress. The officers confronted a group of men who had opened fire on a woman, and then came under fire themselves.

Detectives are searching for two suspects in a dark-colored Nissan or Mitsubishi sedan.

Two juvenile suspects were detained but it's unclear whether either of them is the shooter.
