EAST LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Sheriff’s detectives were investigating the death of a man whose body was found along the Santa Ana (5) Freeway in East Los Angeles.

The discovery was make about 3:15 a.m. Sunday along the southbound lanes north of Ditman Avenue, said Sgt. Harry Drucker of the Sheriff’s Headquarters Bureau. Drucker said the cause of death was not apparent.

A Los Angeles County coroner investigator called to the scene determined that the man may not have been a victim of a collision, but that the body may have been dumped there.

Further information was not immediately available.
