NBA Stars Enter Lockout Talks

NEW YORK (AP) -- NBA players and owners are done talking for the day and plan to resume bargaining Saturday.

With time running out to reach a labor deal that saves the Nov. 1 start of the season, LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant and other NBA stars took part in a four-hour session Friday in New York.

Derek Fisher, president of the players' association, characterized the talks as "engaging." When asked whether a deal could be done this weekend, he said: "I can't answer that."

Commissioner David Stern says "both sides expressed a willingness to make a deal" and again insisted that once regular season games are lost, the positions on both sides will harden.

Owners locked out players on July 1, and the sides continue to spar over the division of revenues and salary cap system.
