Man Wanted For Impersonating Officer, Assaulting Woman

REDLANDS (CBS) — Authorities are looking for a man who impersonated a police officer and assaulted a woman.

Redlands police said on Tuesday the suspect was driving a white Ford Taurus when he pulled over a 35-year-old woman on a motorized scooter and assaulted her.

The suspect told the woman he was a police officer and later said he was a police explorer. He was not wearing a uniform or a badge and had no lights on his car, police said.

The suspect asked the woman to show her underwear to him and reached under her dress. The woman refused and hit the suspect's hand before escaping, police said.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned Hispanic man, 25 to 35-years-old, clean shaven and wearing small, wire-rimmed glasses.

Anyone with information should call Redlands police at (909) 798-7681.
