Judge Hears Pre-Trial Motions In Conrad Murray Case
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A judge heard pre-trial motions Monday in the trial of Michael Jackson's doctor, who is accused of involuntary manslaughter in the pop star's death.

Prosecutors want the jury to hear evidence that the Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles County Coroner's office tried to reach Conrad Murray on four separate occasions, but he never returned their calls. A judge rejected that request as well as motion to show jurors video of frail Jackson at a March 2009 news conference.
A jury of seven men and five women were selected out of 84 prospective jurors for the trial, which is expected to begin Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.
Murray has pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter. His lawyers have said Jackson was contemplating calling off his ten-concert "This Is It" tour if he couldn't sleep.
Murray told police he was giving Jackson the anesthetic propofol as a sleeping aid.
The prosecution claims Murray was grossly negligent in administering the drug at home without proper equipment.
Jackson died of a propofol overdose in June 2009 at his rented Holmby Hills mansion.
