'Aladdin' Carpet Flips Over In Mid-Air At California Adventure; No Injuries

ANAHEIM (CBS) — The Magic Kingdom lost a bit of its magic touch over the weekend during a performance of one of its most popular shows.

KNX 1070's Mike Landa reports visitors to "Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular" at California Adventure were forced to evacuate after the titular carpet flipped over in mid-air.

The Sunday afternoon performance of was cut short when the show's flying magical carpet left two cast members dangling by safety harnesses.

Audience members were instructed to leave the Hyperion Theater nearly halfway through the show by the public address system announcement.

"We regret any inconvenience this may have caused you," the PA announced. "Once again, this performance cannot continue."

After the audience left, crew members fixed the carpet and said they expect to reopen the show Monday.

Park-goers wasted no time jumping on Twitter to spread the news.

"Just witnessed 2 people almost dying," said Twitter user @hahamanda.

A Disney spokeswoman said no one was injured.
