REDLANDS (CBS) — Police are on the hunt for the person behind a rash of vandalized vehicles in Redlands.

The culprit has apparently been using marbles and ball bearings with a slingshot-type device to break out car windows, according to a news release by the city of Redlands Police Department.

Nearly 15 vehicles have been struck since Sept. 21. According to police, the incidents have been occurring mostly on the east and south sides of Redlands, as well as near Redlands High School.

Police are on the lookout for a white 4-door compact car, pictured here, with a loud exhaust. The vehicle was apparently seen in the area after at least one of the incidents.

Anyone with more information is urged to contact Redlands Police Dispatch at (909) 798-7681.
