Man Arrested After Stabbing At Car Wash In Santa Monica
SANTA MONICA (CBS) — A 29-year-old man was behind bars Saturday on suspicion of stabbing a man at a car wash in Santa Monica.
Peter Duran of Los Angeles was arrested Friday after officers responded to a call reporting a stabbing. The incident at Wilshire West Car Wash on Wilshire Boulevard was reported about 10:20 a.m. Friday.
When officers arrived, they found the victim along the south side of the establishment suffering from a single stab wound to his lower back. He was transported to a local hospital where he is listed in good condition.
According to police, witnesses chased down and detained the suspect. He was booked at Santa Monica Jail for attempted murder and his bail was set at $1 million.
An investigation revealed that the victim and the suspect know each other and that the suspect was a former employee of the business, police said.
