President Obama To Visit Los Angeles Monday

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — President Barack Obama will visit Los Angeles next week during a West Coast presidential campaign swing, the White House announced Thursday.

The visit will be apart of a three-day, three-state fundraising trip which includes Washington and Colorado.

After a lunchtime visit to San Diego, the president will arrive in Los Angeles Monday afternoon for a 5 p.m. fundraising event at the House of Blues, 8430 Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood. Tickets are priced from $250 for general admission to $10,000 for a picture with Obama.

Another event will be held later in the evening at Fig & Olive, 8490 Melrose Place. Admission to the dinner is $35,800 per couple. According to the Hollywood Reporter, donors are promised a chance to participate in a question and answer session with the president.

Both Los Angeles area events are aimed at entertainment industry players with deep pockets.

Drivers are advised to avoid the West Hollywood area on Sept. 26. The city has issued an alert on their website warning of street closures and major traffic delays.

For security reasons, the Secret Service has not released the president's travel arrangements while visiting the Southland.

Obama's last visit to Los Angeles was in April when he attended a fundraising event at Sony Pictures in Culver City.

The president will also make two stops in Northern California.
