LAPD Asks For Public's Help To Find Missing 88-Year-Old Diabetic
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Los Angeles police asked for the public's help Wednesday to help find an 88-year-old diabetic Palms-area man who has been missing a week.
Melvin Gelfand, who may be driving a gray 2007 Toyota Camry, was last seen at his home in the 2900 block of Tilden Avenue about 8 a.m. a week ago, according to police and family members. The license on the four-door car is 5UPW238.
Gelfand was described as white, about 5 feet 7 inches and 145 pounds, with thinning gray hair and brown eyes; he was wearing black pants, a plaid beige shirt, a black Members Only jacket and a beige hat, police said.
Anyone with more information as to Gelfand's whereabouts was asked to call detectives at (213) 996-1800 during weekday office hours, or (877) LAPD-24-7 around the clock.
