Free Chick-Fil-A For A Year: Hundreds Line Up At New Hollywood Store

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Hundreds of people crowded a new Chick-fil-A restaurant in Hollywood on Wednesday in the hopes of winning free meals for one year.

But as KNX 1070's Ed Mertz reports, many of those same hopefuls left empty-handed — if not with empty stomachs.

One man grunted in disappointment after his number was not selected as one of 100 meal passes awarding the free meals.

An estimated 200 people showed up to the quick-service chicken restaurant's brand-new location at Sunset and Highland to try their shot at winning.

For some, it wasn't the first time.

"This is my ninth one, went to two in Utah", said one woman.

Another man flew in all the way from Florida for his chance at some free chicken.

"This is number 68 event for me," another fan said. "I am here completely by intent and design."

Those who were lucky enough to win were given official paperwork for free meals and are now camping on the parking lot to get their free meal ticket Thursday morning.
