'Defending A Monster' Authors Discuss The John Wayne Gacy Trial

STUDIO CITY (CBS) — The authors of a new book about murderer John Wayne Gacy visited the KCAL 9 studios Tuesday.

Judge Sam Amirante and Danny Broderick wrote, "Defending A Monster," about the infamous killer who was responsible for the heinous deaths of thirty-three young men and boys. Gacy was tried, convicted and sentenced to death. Gacy's lawyer, Amirante, is now telling his story for the first time of how he defended one of the worst serial killers in America's history.

The book includes authentic photographs, court documents, and letters and drawings by Gacy to his friends and family.

Broderick is a former trial lawyer representing thousands of persons charged with felony and misdemeanor crimes.
