Caught On Tape: Man Robs Mini-Mart With Sawed-Off Shotgun

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Police are asking for the public's help to catch an armed robber.

Officials say a man robbed a LA Mini-Mart on South San Pedro Street last month. The crime was caught on surveillance video.

Police said the suspect apologized to the clerk, in Spanish, for having to rob the place but that he "needed money."

He also told the clerk he was "embarrassed" for having to rob him before he pulled out a sawed-off shotgun.

The suspect is described as about 5 feet 5 inches tall, between 190-210 pounds.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call LAPD detectives.
