(KFWB NEWS TALK 980) — It’s not the crime of the century, but Burbank is taking the potential threat to airline travel at Bob Hope Airport very seriously.
It has to do with a rise in the pigeon population that has officials worried they could cause a bird strike on a jet engine.
They’ve cited Charles Douglas, a local business owner for allegedly feeding pigeons next to the airport even after he was warned not to.
Burbank officials say Douglas violated a municipal code — but more importantly, he’s creating a major safety hazard for jet aircraft.
