FBI Investigating `Hacked' Celebrities

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — FBI agents probed allegations that computer hackers targeted a number of celebrities, including actress Scarlett Johannson, a naked image of whom turned up Wednesday on the Internet, a bureau spokeswoman in Los Angeles said.

"The FBI is investigating the person or groups responsible for the computer intrusion of high-profile figures in Los Angeles," spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said.

The images turned up on BuzzFeed but had been removed by midmorning.

Eimiller declined to discuss the specifics of the investigation or if other celebrities had contacted the agency.

Miley Cyrus, Jessica Alba, Demi Lovato, Ali Larter, Christina Aguilera and Vanessa Hudgens also have been "hacked," according to TMZ.com., which reported that as many as 50 women celebrities may have been victimized. Hudgens went to the FBI in March, TMZ reported.

Eimiller said computer intrusion is a federal crime and that "the occupation of victims is irrelevant."
