Burglars Targeting Homes Tented For Fumigation In Torrance

TORRANCE (CBS) — Burglars are targeting homes near Torrance that have been tented for fumigation, official said.

So far this year, six homes have been targeted, according to police. Officials say the houses are appealing to criminals because the homes’ doors and windows are open due to fumigation.

In all burglaries reported this year, the suspects have broken a window or entered the residence through an unlocked window while the home is tented.

From 2007 to 2010, officials say an average of two homes per year has been hit.

“Historically in Torrance, the top months for these have been September and November,” police said in a press release.

Authorities have no leads on suspects, but don’t believe the fumigation companies are connected the burglaries.

The FBI and DEA fabricate evidence, steal from suspects and use murder to close those bad cases.
