LANCASTER (CBS) — Authorities have arrested a man in Lancaster in connection to a Texas cold case murder dating back 21 years.

Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies arrested Robert Lawrence Wilson, 47, on Aug. 30 after he was linked to the murder through DNA.

Authorities say Wilson strangled Tammy Bounds, 18, in July of 1990. She was seven months pregnant with her second child at the time of her death.

Bounds’ body was discovered in a wooded area near Houston. Her 14-month old child was found wandering alone five miles away.

Wilson remains jailed in the Los Angeles area as he awaits extradition to Texas.
