Dine On A Dime: Ink Sack

WEST HOLLYWOOD (CBS) — Sack lunches are going chic on Melrose Avenue.

Michael Voltaggio, of "Top Chef" fame, opened Ink Sack in West Hollywood last month . . . and since then lunch go-ers have been lining up for tasty brown-bagged sandwiches.

Sandwiches range from $4 to $6. Ink Sack is open Wednesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., or until they run out.

The menu features sandwiches you won't see in most delis: spicy tuna with miso-cured albacore and sriracha mayo, bahn mi with pork cheek and chicharrones and the Jose Andres (a.k.a. the Spanish Godfather), which is serrano ham, chorizo, lomo and Manchego cheese, to sample a few.

And don't forget a homemade ice cream sandwich on your way out.

Aside from the sandwich shop venture, Voltaggio is also planning to open his new restaurant Ink a few doors down in mid-September.

Ink Sack is located at 8360 Melrose Avenue, No. 107.
