Ton Of Marijuana Found In Hot Sauce Shipment At Calif. Border

SAN DIEGO (CBS) — It was definitely a spicy find for U.S. Border Patrol agents: a shipment of hot sauce confiscated at the U.S.- Mexico border was found to contain over one ton of marijuana.

The bust came last Friday afternoon at the cargo checkpoint in Otay Mesa, where customs agents decided to take a closer look at the trailer loaded with what had been reported to be hot sauce.

After a border patrol agent detained the driver — a 39-year-old male Mexican citizen and resident of Tijuana — for secondary screening, officers ran the tractor trailer through the port’s x-ray imaging system.

Once they opened the shipment, they found 123 bundles of marijuana among bottles of hot sauce.

Officials said the marijuana has an estimated street value of $1.4 million.

The driver was arrested and transported to the Metropolitan Correctional Center, while agents seized the marijuana, tractor and trailer.

I love how they claim the “street value” is over a million dollars. Trust me, no one is paying a million for that mexican shwag weed. It’s worth probably a third of the estimated value.

And while they were licking there chop’s because of the tip by other Mexican Cartel Drug Lords rating out each other out to the DEA; The DEA brings their 100 ton’s of cocaine past their paid off lackey U.S Border Patrol Agent’s. Did everybody forget that METH , COCAINE , MEXICAN BLACK TAR, is by far more profitable to the U.S. STOCK EXCHANGE – ( WALL STREET ) . As for the 61Million American’s that are drug user’s, they never get the real stuff . Marijuana dose not have a market value that is worth a hill of bean’s compared to the one’s that can KILL you.

  13. Red Meador says:

Why the heck dont the Government get out of the drug business and let these folks make a living>? Simply because the government aint making nothing off it. and it keeps a bunch of people employed by the government who cant get an honest job.

    1. lonnie says:

  16. KOBE says:

And so the driver will be given section 8 housing, food stamps, free college and general relief to stay in Los Angeles. His ten kids and wife will soon come to los Angeles and they will milk the taxpayers. SO SAD
