Mandeville Fire 80 Percent Contained; Residents Return Home

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Fire crews on Tuesday gained the upper hand on a wildfire that has scorched about 10 acres of hillside brush outside Brentwood.

The blaze that had initially closed down Mandeville Canyon Road was nearly 80 percent contained, according to said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Residents were allowed access back to their homes around 8:30 p.m. Monday.

No structures were threatened by the slow-moving blaze, Humphrey said.

The fire has not expanded in size since it was reported at 4:10 p.m. Monday near the 22000 block of North Canyonback Road, said Matt Spence of the LAFD.

There have been no reports of injuries.
