Actor Anthony Michael Hall Put Under Citizen's Arrest For Alleged Fight Threats

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Actor Anthony Michael Hall, best known for his roles as a wise-cracking geek in the 1980s, was put under citizen's arrest by a neighbor at his condominium complex in Playa del Rey, police said Tuesday.

Officers were called to an address in the 7300 block of Vista del Mar about 10 p.m. Monday, LAPD Officer Bruce Borihanh said.

"A neighbor said he and Hall were involved in a dispute, and he was threatened by Hall," Borihanh said. "He said he wanted Hall placed under citizen's arrest."

Officers booked the 43-year-old actor on suspicion of disturbing the peace and released him on $500 bail, Borihanh said.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the neighbor told police Hall tore up some plants in a common area of their condominium.

The man confronted Hall, and he allegedly responded with an obscenity and threatened to "beat him to a pulp," sources told The Times. Hall again allegedly challenged the man to fight, prompting him to call police.

Hall, once a member of the "Brat Pack" in the 1980s, he has starred in films including "Sixteen Candles," "the Breakfast Club," and "National Lampoon's Vacation."
