EAST LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Officials said a 24-year-old mother of three and an alleged gang member were arrested when a search of their East Los Angeles home yielded drugs and guns.
Ivonne Salazar, was arrested Wednesday after detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department gang unit searched her home and found amounts of methamphetimine, cocaine and heroin, along with three loaded handguns, sheriff’s officials said.
Deputies said when asked, Salazar admitted to having the illegal narcotics for sale and the firearms for protection during business transactions.
Salazar’s three daughters, 4, 7 and 8 years old, were taken into protective custody.
