Twitter In A Tizzy After Newhall Earthquake

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — The short and sudden jolt felt across the southland Thursday sent Twitter users into a tizzy, tweeting about the magnitude 4.3 earthquake.

"Newhall" was a top trending topic in Los Angeles within minutes of the quake, which occurred at 1:47 p.m.

Here is what Angelenos had to say:

Yoshi831:"I live just down the road, nothing too crazy, all is good"

UrbanDecay411: "ummm.. earthquake? Or effects from staying out last night??

Mark Gonzales: " WE'RE GONNA DIEEEEEE!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH (my impression from someone from the east coast experiencing an earthquake)"

gretchenaparker: "Anytime an #earthquake hits, it's always a lesson in LA geography for me. Luckily google maps knows where Newhall is."

Adrianne Curry: "earthquake! Not bad..but scared me"

Here on CBSLA.com, viewers have been telling us about what they felt from Woodland Hills to Studio City and the Moreno Valley.

David: "Felt it here at my office. Nothing major- just a quick jolt. Nothing to freak out over since we're much tougher than those east coasters!"

German C: "Felt it down by the 5 and 110 freeways."

Anabelle Felix: "I felt like a strong jolt here in the office, but that was it. Just another Thursday afternoon for Angelenos.."

Aly: "Yes, we felt it very strong in Granada Hills. I was in my office and thought it was a big truck passing by our street but then it got stronger and stronger. It didn't just roll, it really rattled the windows. I'm still a little shaky!"

Steve: "We felt it in Santa Monica, just a little shaking in our 5th floor office – enough to make the hanging lights swing back and forth for a short time. Hope that's it for the next several years………….."
