Rose Bowl Neighbors Say No To Prospect Of NFL Team
PASADENA (AP) — Residents of the neighborhood around the Pasadena Rose Bowl are not ready for some pro football.
The Linda Vista/Annandale neighborhood association voted last week to oppose letting the venue be the temporary home for an NFL team if efforts succeed in bringing a franchise to Southern California.
Entertainment firm AEG has proposed building an NFL stadium in downtown Los Angles, while developer Majestic Realty Co. has a rival plan for an east Los Angeles County venue.
If either gets a team, the Rose Bowl and the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum have been mentioned as possible short term homes during a new stadium's construction.
Neighborhood association president Lee Zanteson tells the Pasadena Star-News that a team at the Rose Bowl would attract too much traffic and other activity.
