White Powder Mailed To CBS Studios Deemed Harmless By Officials
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Police and firefighters responded to CBS studios in the Fairfax District Tuesday afternoon after someone opened a letter that contained an unknown white powder.
Authorities say they received the call at 2: 50 p.m. The letter was sent to the production offices at the "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" and was opened by a production assistant, according to CBS spokesman Chris Ender.
Production offices were cleared while LA City fire hazmat crews tested the letter and its contents. The white powder was deemed harmless, officials said.
Production of the "Late Late Show" will continue as scheduled for Tuesday night, according to Ender.
