Motown Legend Nick Ashford Dies At 70

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Nick Ashford, of the famous Motown duo Ashford & Simpson, has died at age 70.

Ashford and his wife, Valerie Simpson, wrote some of Motown's biggest hits, including "Ain't No Mountain High Enough", "All I Need To Get By" and "Solid".

He passed away Monday at a hospital in New York.

A former publicist says he had been suffering from throat cancer.
