Car-To-Car Shooting Wounds Woman, 14-Year-Old Daughter In Watts

SOUTH LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A woman and her 14-year-old daughter returning home from a wedding were caught in the crossfire of a car-to-car shooting in Watts.

The shooting, which happened about 11:45 p.m. Saturday in the 2200 block of East of 108th Street, is believed to be gang-related, Los Angeles police Sgt. P. Johnson said.

According to Johnson, one of the suspect vehicles was a sport utility vehicle, while the other a compact car.

The woman is listed in stable condition. She suffered a gunshot wound to her left hand.

Her daughter, however, is critical after being wounded in the torso.
