2 Killed When Car Slams Into Power Pole In Chatsworth

WEST HILLS (CBS) — Authorities Sunday said two people were killed when their car struck a power pole and fire hydrant in Chatsworth.

The single-vehicle crash involving a white 2006 Scion TC sedan was reported at 3:05 a.m. at Topanga Canyon Boulevard and Lassen Street, Los Angeles police Officer Kenneth Franco said.

The victims, identified as a 29-year-old male driver and 24-year-old female passenger, died at the scene, police said. Their names have not been released pending notification of next of kin.

The downed pole cut service to 771 Department of Water and Power customers.

Power was fully restored about 12:45 p.m., utility spokeswoman Gale Harris said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact authorities at (877) LAPD-247.

Feel bad for the 771 households that lost their electricity…

Your an idiot. I feel bad for YOU. How could you get the nerve to write a comment like that when a 4 year old boy is now motherless and countless family and friends are devastated. Wait till it happens to someone in your family or someone you know. The fact is those two that died were actual people and loved and definitely didn’t deserve what happened.

Too bad the idiot driver had to take somebody with him!! Too many people in this world have lost, or never had for that matter, any fear of consequences. Especially the “NO FEAR” generation.

Instead of sending your condolences to the friends and/or family of the victims you guys are being rude!! Two wonderful people were lost this morning and they will be truly missed!! A child was left motherless so before you write hurtful comments think about the people that might be reading this. Rest In Paradise!!!

at the end of the day you can point your fingers at who ever was at fault or how it happened or WHY it happened, but NEITHER OF THEM got to go home last night.
They both had a lot of family and friends they left behind heartbroken and she left a beautiful little boy who just turned 4 a week and a half ago.
