NORTH HOLLYWOOD (CBS) — Two men were shot and killed early Saturday in North Hollywood gang violence.

Police said the shooting occurred near 8140 Coldwater Canyon Avenue about 1:30 a.m., according to the North Hollywood Police Station.

Authorities believe the two men tried to enter a party and then shooting broke out. One man, who sustained a single gunshot wound to the head, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other victim had a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to Kaiser Panorama City Medical Center where he later died from his wound.

The two men were identified as 22-year-old Wilson Pierre of Los Angeles and 19-year-old Deon Bastian of Fontana.

No suspect  information was released but police said Saturday evening that a Sony high-def handheld camcorder was shooting the party and they believe it might be crucial in identifying suspects and the gunman.

Police urged anyone with information regarding this double homicide, including the location of the missing camera, to contact North Hollywood homicide detectives at (818) 623-4075 or -1-877LAPD-24-7.
