WINNETKA (CBS) — A narcotics suspect, who apparently ran into a drainage tunnel of the Los Angeles River to flee police, has been taken into custody.
Officers started pursuing the suspect and a female companion around 3 p.m. Friday near Corbin Avenue in Winnetka.
Firefighters helped police navigate the maze of tunnels until they found the suspect around 9 p.m., according to officials.
Ann Sterling, reporting for CBS2 and KCAL9, said the female was also in custody.
No other information was immediately available.
