SYLMAR (CBS) — Some lanes of the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway will be closed overnight in the Sylmar area as part of a project to improve the interchange of the 5 and Antelope Valley (14) freeways, Caltrans reported.
The northbound 5 lane closures will begin at 11:59 Monday night from Balboa Boulevard to the 14 Freeway, and will continue through 5 a.m. Tuesday, repeating each night through Friday.
Detours will be posted, and will include diverting traffic onto truck lanes, Caltrans reported.
The $161-million project, which began in July 2008, is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2013.
