LONG BEACH (CBS) — A Long Beach man involved in a domestic disturbance surrendered to a SWAT team Monday morning after spending several hours holed up in a home.

Officers were sent to the 6400 block of Bixby Terrace Drive just before 4 a.m.

A woman who had a restraining order against the man had suffered a minor injury and was treated at the scene.

Some nearby residents were evacuated as a precaution when the man refused to come out of his home.

The suspect surrendered at 8 a.m. Police did not release his name, but confirmed that he has an extensive criminal history.
