Woman Wounded In Valley Gang-Related Shooting
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Police say a woman was wounded in what appeared to be a gang-related shooting in western San Fernando Valley.
The shooting in the 16500 block of Devonshire Street was reported at 1:04 a.m. as the woman and a friend drove away from a dance studio, Los Angeles police Sgt. Lonnie Tiano said.
"She and some friends were leaving the business, and the suspect drove up and asked them where they were from," Tiano said. "There's no correct answer to that question."
Someone in the other car – a blue, gray or tan 1990s model Cadillac – opened fire, wounding the woman in the wrist.
"She was driven to Northridge hospital by a friend," Tiano said.
Tiano said initial reports that the shooting may have been related to two bodies found at a Chatsworth home early Saturday were unfounded.
No immediate arrests have been made.
