Neuheisel Hoping To Get Off Bruins' Hot Seat

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Three years after he returned to his alma mater, coach Rick Neuheisel realizes he might be down to his last chance to fix UCLA.

He acknowledged it shortly after he sat down at Pac-12 media day, calling himself the "coach on the proverbial hot seat."

Not much has gone according to Neuheisel's plan in the past three seasons, which have included just 15 wins, several key injuries and multiple changes of direction and philosophy.

Yet Neuheisel is unflaggingly confident in his new coaches and returning players. He still believes quarterback Kevin Prince can lead the Bruins' constantly one-sided offense to some semblance of balance, and he expects another strong year from his overworked defense.
