Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (August 12)

STUDIO CITY (CBS) — The low clouds are once again blanketing the Southland. This will help to keep our temperatures mild for yet another day.

Daytime highs will still hover in the upper 70s in the basin, which is about 4 to 7 degrees below average.

There is a weak upper-level low over Baja that will surge up to the north over the next 36 hours so we may see some mid-level cloud cover surge into the area later Friday and Saturday.

This disturbance will also increase the chance for a monsoonal thunderstorm in the eastern deserts, but there really isn't a ton of lift to work with, so the threat is minimal.

As far as the weekend goes, it should be nice with the continued trend. While it may be a little warmer, we will still wake up with some low clouds in the basin.

Coastal - low 70s
Basin - low 80s
Valleys - low 90s
Mountains - low 80s
Deserts - upper 90s
