Can You Spare $150? Raffle Offers Laguna Beach House For Cheap
COSTA MESA (CBS) — The Southland real estate market may be a little shaky, but one local marine science education center is hoping to attract renters who couldn't otherwise hope to own a place of their own — let alone one on the shores of Laguna Beach.
The Ocean Institute spokeswoman Susan Goggins told KNX 1070 the property is the grand prize in their latest million-dollar home raffle.

"The Ocean Institute has actually done seven million-dollar home raffles," adding that five out of the past six winners have chosen the cash value instead of the property.
In order to win, Goggins said you must enter by August 17 by purchasing tickets for $150 — but they will only sell a maximum of 20,000 tickets.
In addition to the grand prize, some other prizes include $15,000 in cash or a shopping spree at the South Coast Plaza.
And if you enter early, you could have a chance to win multiple prizes.
"We have several drawings leading up to the grand prize drawing, so even if you win early on, your ticket goes back in the drum for the main drawing," said Goggins.
