IRVINE (AP) — Authorities say two Long Beach residents arrested in a series of thefts at the University of California, Irvine, are believed to be responsible for thefts at several other Southern California universities.
A UCI news release says 28-year-old Karim Patrece Davis and 25-year-old Angie Latoya Gray, both of Long Beach, were arrested Wednesday. Two other men, who were with Davis and Gray at the time of their arrests, were taken into custody on outstanding warrants.
Police say UCI university police executed search warrants at two locations in Long Beach and found purses, wallets and credit cards stolen during the campus burglaries.
Police say a subsequent investigation determined that Davis and Gray allegedly carried out similar burglaries at several other universities, including UCLA and California State University, Long Beach.
