PALOS VERDES (CBS) — A multi-agency search was underway Tuesday morning for anyone who might have been aboard a small boat that washed ashore near Palos Verdes Estates.
The panga — a small vessel commonly used by commercial fishermen — was found about 6:45 a.m. near the 700 block of Paseo del Mar, the Los Angeles County Fire Department said. A number of gas cans were also found
nearby.
It was unclear if there were any occupants on the boat, fire officials said.
The U.S. Coast Guard was sent to the scene and was looking for anyone who may have been on board, officials said.
U.S. Border Patrol and lifeguards from Baywatch Cabrillo were also assisting in the search.
