City Council Approves NFL Stadium Agreement With AEG

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — The Los Angeles City Council approved a tentative framework agreement with a private developer that wants to build a 72,000-seat NFL stadium on the city's convention center campus.

The council's 12-0 vote Tuesday established a preliminary agreement between AEG and the city.

No tax dollars or city funds will be spent on the stadium, which would require the demolition of the west hall at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

The 75,000-seat stadium has already received approval from a panel of four council members.
