OIS Reported In Riverside
RIVERSIDE (CBS) — A police officer responding to a disturbance call early Saturday morning shot a man during a confrontation in Riverside, according to Riverside police.
Two Riverside police officers were sent to a residence in the 4600 block of Hedrick Avenue at 1:56 a.m. today to investigate a reported disturbance, according to Lt. Ed Blevins.
"When the officers arrived, they made contact with an adult male at the front door and the subject refused to cooperate with officers," Blevins said. "This confrontation with the subject led to an officer-involved shooting involving one of the officers."
Gerardo Rodriguez, 39, of Riverside, was transported to a local hospital and treated for injuries that were not life-threatening. After being treated, Rodriguez was arrested for suspicion of resisting a peace officer and suspicion of being under the influence of a dangerous drug.
The officers were not injured, Blevins said.
