LOS ANGELES (AP) — Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market Inc. is recalling its f&e-brand organic baby spinach because it could be contaminated with listeria, an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children and others with weakened immune systems.
While no illnesses have been reported, the El Segundo, Calif. company said Friday that it was taking precautions after one bag of spinach tested positive for listeria.
The recalled products have the “enjoy by” date of August 1 and were sold in Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market stores in California, Nevada and Arizona.
