Claremont Police Seeking Public's Help To Identify Rape Suspect

CLAREMONT (CBS) — Police are asking for the public's help to identify a man in a sexual assault case.

According to Claremont police, an unidentified suspect rode a bicycle up to two women walking in the 700 block of West San Jose Avenue, grabbed their buttocks and fled around 1:30 a.m. on June 18.

A short time later, as one of the two victims was leaving a nearby apartment complex, the same suspect pushed the woman to the ground and sexually assaulted her, Claremont police said.

A witness scared off the suspect who left his bicycle at the scene of the crime.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Claremont Police Department at (909) 399-5421.
