Man Convicted Twice Of DUI Pleads Not Guilty To Killing Pedestrian In Drunken Crash

SANTA ANA (AP) — A man has pleaded not guilty to murder and other charges in connection with a drunken driving car crash that killed a woman on a sidewalk near her Orange County home.

Prosecutors say 48-year-old Adam Harrison Hall was behind the wheel of a sport utility vehicle that drove through a red light in Laguna Niguel on Feb. 13 and collided with a Toyota SUV before killing pedestrian Mara Steves.

The Orange County Register says Hall, who has two previous convictions for driving under the influence, entered not guilty pleas on Monday to murder, driving under the influence and three counts relating to forging or altering a prescription.

Steves was attempting to find the owner of a loose dog when she was struck down and killed.
