Police: Car Thief Kills Pregnant Woman, Her Boyfriend In Fiery Crash

POMONA (CBS) — A pregnant woman and her boyfriend were killed early Monday morning when their car burst into flames after being hit by an unlicensed driver in a stolen vehicle, authorities reported.

Miguel Herrera, 22, and his girlfriend Desiree Grajeda, 17, were instantly killed in the crash.

They were out driving on Holt Avenue at 2 a.m. for a late-night snack when a stolen Infiniti G375 broadsided them. Their Nissan Maxima was split in half and went flying into a light pole. The car then burst into flames, police said. The driver and passenger were both pronounced dead on the scene.

Pomona police arrested Lorraine Martinez, 26, of Pomona on suspicion of vehicle theft. More charges could be added later. Martinez does not have a driver's license, according to officials.
